2011 Golf & Tennis Academy
America's most prestigious summer camp has long offered championship-level instruction in several sports to compliment a wide range of over 30 activities. It is now possible for Robin Hood campers to receive championship-level intensive instruction in both Tennis and Golf. Aspiring players have the option to commit to an intensive camp approach or to customize their level of involvement in Golf and or Tennis to whatever level they want. Campers will receive professional PGA and USPTA instruction at our Robin Hood Camp location.
Golf Academy: With a 300-yard driving range just five minutes from the center of our camp property, two youth instruction-friendly golf courses nearby, excellent PGA professional instruction and state-of-the-art technology, we are able to accommodate aspiring young golfers at all ability levels.
Tennis Academy Taught predominantly by four mature USTA Tennis professionals, and not just young college players, Robin Hood is capable of providing world-class, individualized Tennis Academy instruction.
Age Range: Placing strict age range requirements on player development tracks can be a disservice, particularly to precocious children. Why should a talented, enthusiastic 11-year-old not be allowed to train with a 12 or 13-year-old at their same ability? We prefer to let the specific ability level of each child act as the primary criteria for placement.
Philosophy: At Robin Hood we are committed to the development of our campers at all levels. Traditional Golf and Tennis Academies seldom guide campers to the highest standards off the court or course. The sports teaching at many specialty sports camps may be excellent, but children all too often may not benefit from supervision and teaching from true educators. Robin Hood now brings our long-standing, 83-year tradition of dealing effectively and appropriately with the physical and moral safety of children to the work of the specialty sports academy. Plus, we protect each camper through the standards of our admissions process, which require strong teacher recommendations and a personal interview with a director.
