Outfitter Frequently Asked Questions
Following are some of the most common questions parents ask when ordering uniforms for their children:
- What needs to be name taped?
It is imperative that all clothing that comes to camp, uniform and non-uniform, be named. Clothing should have sew-on labels and other items, such as shoes, tents, and sleeping bags, must be identified with indelible ink. We do offer a name label & a sew on service for your convenience.
- Do I have to order name tapes and the sew-on service if my child is picking up his or her order at camp? Can I send my child with a laundry pen?
All orders being picked up at camp, and this includes all orders for children arriving from outside the country, must be marked by us to ensure that it is done. In the past, some families have sent their own name tapes and we have sewn those on. Please let us know in advance if this is your intention. Our name tapes are made to order and can take a week to produce.
- Why do I have to pay shipping and handling?
Since Robin Hood Outfitters is in Pittsburgh, PA, the clothing either needs to be shipped to your home or to Maine.
- Where do I put additional information?
Please write any special requests on your order form. Should there be any need to change your order, please call 412-741-4716 or fax 412-741-5186, or email RHoutfitters@aol.com. In the past, some of these special requests have been a need to have the order by a certain date because the family was going on vacation before camp. Some parents, who are unsure of the sizing of the order, specify that their children prefer clothing that is oversized OR scaled down. We want to process your order as efficiently and accurately as possible, and any extra information helps.
- Can I order clothing when my child arrives at camp? And, can I order more clothing at camp if my child needs additional shorts?
All initial orders must be placed before the camper arrives. It is best to calculate as accurately as possible the quantities your camper will need before camp begins. Unfortunately, after June 12th, we cannot guarantee we will have all sizes in stock. This year for orders over $200 placed after June 1st there will be a $40 late fee.
- If I don’t live overseas, can I still have my order shipped directly to camp?
Yes you can. Check the appropriate box on the order form and your child will receive the order at camp. Most children, however, like to see and try on their camping gear before camp begins. This also allows for returns and exchanges before your child arrives at camp.
