Fall 2019 Message from Director Rick Littlefield

With another successful summer on the lake and by the sea behind us, the following highlights immediately come to mind:

-James Underwood being the first camper to win both legs of our Biathalon Challenge, which starts with the Across the Lake 2.5-mile swim and is followed by the Around the Lake 8.2 mile run. The Biathlete participants compete against fresh runners who did not participate in the swim leg. An astonishing accomplishment! James also conquered the Bagaduce River 12 to 13-hour canoe challenge finishing in record time–close to 11 hours! He also completed the one-day Mt. Katahdin Climb. James is the first camper to win the Robin Hood Cup, Achievement Cup, and Challenge Cup.

-Campers arrived from 42 countries this season, a record number.

-Every morning roundup, humorous cabin chants helped make the meeting entertaining. Plus, many brave and inspirational morning devotionals added meaning.

-World Class Tennis professional Clark Corey helped lead our Tennis program all summer. Clark has trained and certified hundreds of USTA tennis professionals around the world.

-PGA golf professional Dave Deheras, coach at UC Santa Barbara and pro at Hidden Oaks Golf Course in Santa Barbara led our Golf Academies and provided instruction to RH golfers all seven weeks.

-Muay Thai Kickboxing Champion Nghia Tran directed our most popular program for his 17th summer.

-Champion Sailor Anthony Minder energized our Sailing program. Anthony and brother Alex brought back our ocean sailing racing program using our Pearson Ensign and taught a record number of lake sailors.

It was a memorable, remarkable, and gratifying 92th season! -Rick Littlefield
